Steinhauer is nVent HOFFMAN

Known to many in the industry as Steinhauer, nVent HOFFMAN Panel Shop Automation solutions help panel builders reach new levels of productivity and flexibility. Steinhauer GmbH was acquired by the nVent Group in 2015 and, operationally, is now part of nVent HOFFMAN.

Benefits for both parties

“At Steinhauer we welcomed the acquisition because we saw the Group as a strong partner with whom we could continue to grow,” explains Hermann Nagel. “We saw major potential for our business in North America, which is a key market for nVent.”

After the acquisition, nVent’s electrical enclosure business, nVent HOFFMAN, extended its offering, via Steinhauer’s customer base, to panel shops in Europe. “It gave them the opportunity to progress from being a product supplier and become a solution provider, and to be on the same level in terms of products as their strongest competitor,” relates Hermann Nagel.

Streamlining panel shop operations

The Steinhauer division employs skilled and dedicated people, working with the nVent HOFFMAN Panel Shop Automation portfolio.

The central product, the ModCenter, enables the user to drill, tap and mill complex holes and cutouts in enclosures in just minutes.

Other products are the Personal Wiring Assistant which provides the right wire, cut to the exact length, precisely when needed, and NC-Cut used to prepare cable ducts and DIN rails.

Together, these solutions offer panel shop integrators and OEMs higher productivity with improved operator safety, higher quality with defects virtually eliminated, and greater flexibility. Costs are much lower, with savings of up to 80%.

Summarizing his division’s offering, Hermann Nagel says: “Our strength lies in our capability to help our customers continuously improve their businesses and become more competitive in all aspects of the modification and installation of control cabinets.”

A steady flow of panel shop equipment is produced at the nVent HOFFMAN premises in Germany.

A solutions supplier

Hermann Nagel sees an important role and a successful future for the panel shop automation business as part of nVent HOFFMAN. “We are the only machine builder within nVent and we could be a forerunner within nVent when it comes to becoming and being seen as a solutions provider.”
