Continuing operations to support essential businesses and infrastructure in Spain

March 30, 2020. Following the recommendations of the experts in the epidemiological field, Spain adopted new measures that deepen the control of the spread of the COVID-19 virus and avoid the accumulation of patients in the Intensive Care Units leading to overcrowding.

nVent, through its subsidiary Eldon España SAU, will continue operations to support essential businesses and infrastructure in Spain.

Spain Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, declaring the state of emergency for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID-19, adopted a series of measures concerning the limitation of mobility, as well as the social and economic activities, which have contributed to containing the advance of COVID-19. However, despite the impact that these measures of social distancing are having to favor the control of the epidemic, the total number of infected people and victims of COVID-19, who are admitted to Intensive Care Units, has continued to grow, causing increasing pressure on the National Health System and, in particular, on healthcare services.

Eldon España, SAU, as subsidiary of nVent Electric plc (“nVent”), is committed to continuously following the official directives issued by the state, local and national health authorities for the management of the health crisis caused by COVID-19.

In accordance to section 5 of the Spain Royal Decree 10/2020, nVent will continue operations at its warehouse in Zaragoza, Spain in its capacity of supplier for essential businesses including food and agriculture, healthcare, communications and infrastructure technology, energy, water and wastewater, transport and logistics and chemical.

Employees’ welfare remains our top priority, therefore all nVent safety protocols remain in place - including social distancing, extra promotion of good hygiene practices and enhanced cleaning, and are constantly being reinforced. Following the World Health Organization recommendations, employees are self-monitoring own health and, if any symptoms are present (i.e., fever, cough, shortness of breath) they notify their supervisor and remain at home. Furthermore, apart from complying with the health and safety obligations in the workplace, nVent has already implemented work-from-home policies where possible, to limit the potential risk of infection among its employees.

nVent will continue to carefully read and take all the necessary steps to comply with the official guidance, in order to help slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

March 26, 2020. We continue to monitor the rapidly changing impacts of the coronavirus around the globe. We have been taking actions to keep our people safe, while staying focused on continuing to serve customers.

We’ve aligned our actions with the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as local health authorities.

Following local guidance, we’ve encouraged employees who are able to work remotely to do so. We’ve suspended all non-critical visitors to our facilities, and restricted air and other travel.

We’ve enhanced cleaning procedures and frequency, and increased the promotion of good hygiene practices at all our locations. In our manufacturing sites we are creating separation between teams and shifts, limiting group interactions, and conducting meetings virtually whenever possible.

We’ve asked our employees to take social distancing actions to support “flattening the curve” to slow transmission of the virus within our communities, to help ensure that our hospitals and health care providers aren’t overwhelmed, which will help save lives.

Product availability

Because we maintain stock of standardized products for future orders, at this time we do not anticipate any delays in product shipments. Additionally, as part of our Express Customization, our local Modification Centers can supply fast and efficient machining for off-the-shelf enclosures in a matter of days should our factory experience any delays.

The lead time for Advanced Customization was temporarily extended with 10 working days in order to increase output of standard products, which allows us to serve the market in the best possible way considering the dynamic situation. We continue to monitor the changing situation, and are committed to providing updates should our ability to meet customer commitments change as a result.

We will continue to take steps aimed at protecting the health and well-being of employees and others – whether working at one of our locations or onsite at a customer’s location– during this uncertain time.
