New Switchgears for MutliFlex

Eldon Plans Launch of New Switchgears for Multi-Flex Enclosure

Eldon plans to release an updated switchgear for its Multi-Flex line of floorstanding enclosures. The latest switchgear, the MCSL, will join the MCL in Eldon’s switchgear product line.

The new power distribution panels will benefit from several important improvements, including gains in useable space achieved by moving the bus bars from the front to the rear of the enclosure. This change will allow installers to employ the entire top-to-bottom length of the switchgear.

Furthermore, Eldon plans an increased level of switchgear customization for different national markets. Current plans entail the U.K. version featuring steel internal shielding instead of the traditional plastic. This will open up new possibilities for use because of the increased resistance to fire. For the Swedish market, Eldon will create a version of the switchgear that allows power supply cables from the utility company to be directly connected to the distribution panel in keeping with the Swedish practice of not employing a separate connection box.

The full line of Multi-Flex accessories will be offered for the new switchgears. These accessories include: profiles and click-in profiles, plinths, cable boxes, drawing pockets and the brackets used in mounting enclosures together.

Like all of Eldon’s distribution boards sold in Europe, the new switchgears will be type tested at Kema Test Station in Holland for TTA certification. Switchgears to be sold in the U.K. will have bus bar systems tested at the renowned Asta testing station.

The new switchgears will be released in the United Kingdom and Norway soon with eventual distribution in Sweden, Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium and the Middle East
