Eldon the Enclosure of Choice for Södertälje Bridge Builders
Replacing the aging railroad bridge over Sweden’s Södertälje Canal is no small undertaking. With nearly 250 trains traveling across it each day, the lift bridge located in a busy industrial area twenty kilometers south of Stockholm represents an important link in Sweden’s infrastructure. The construction of a modern lift bridge commenced in 2007 and the new structure is slated to open in 2010.
With a main span of fifty-six meters and the capacity to rise fifteen meters to allow marine traffic to pass underneath through the Södertälje Canal, the new bridge has significant needs for electrical power and Eldon has been the supplier of choice for NYA ELBRO TEKNIK. The firm is using Eldon’s product line to meet all of its enclosure needs for the new bridge. This includes Eldon’s EPS (Electric Power System), the Multi-Flex enclosure line of floor standing enclosures and Eldon products again as the basis for all automation and low voltage enclosures.
“This bridge is a central link between Stockholm and south Sweden and we are quite pleased to be a part of such a crucial project,” said Anders Malstrom, Sales and Marketing Manager at Eldon AB. “The exclusive selection of Eldon shows real confidence in our product line and that we are, indeed, easy to do business with.”
Eldon was selected by NYA ELBRO TEKNIK for several key reasons, the firm’s Multi-Flex line being able to be used as the central building block of all three electrical enclosure applications, being central among them. This meant NYA ELBRO TEKNIK only had to deal with a single vendor, thus streamlining the purchasing and delivery process. Furthermore, Eldon’s enclosure solutions were found to be very high quality and extremely easy to work with.
Malstrom continued, “It is a testament to the flexibility of our Multi-Flex line of enclosures that it can be so easily adapted for a broad array of uses.”
