Eldon partner in environmental project with McDonald’s

Already since spring you will be able to charge the electric cars while you eat at McDonald’s in Stockholm, Sweden. It is the result of a collaboration between McDonald’s, Eldon – producer of the charging station – Tallykey and the Swedish Research and Development, Elforsk (Svenska Elföretagens forsknings- och utvecklingsbolag).

The electric industry is actively working to accelerate the transition to electric cars and hybrid electric drive in Sweden. The intention is to reduce Sweden’s emissions of carbon dioxide and break the dependence on oil in transport.

”The electrical industry sees the cooperation with McDonald’s as an important part in our efforts to build an infrastructure for next generation eco-cars”, stated Morgan Andersson, CEO of Elforsk.

The cooperation provides opportunities to test the charging stations, various payment solutions and decide together with the users what works well and what needs to be further developed. In the current situation we have a couple of hundred electric cars in Sweden, but already in the next few years, electric vehicles will have a great impact on the market.
