Eldon’s New Distribution Boards for Stainless Steel Enclosures a Big Success
Launched at Sweden’s Gothenburg Fair in April, the distribution boards for Eldon’s new line of stainless steel enclosures (IP 55) have been very well accepted by the market to date. Even considering that July is traditionally a holiday month in Sweden, more than 300 of the new distribution boards have already been sold.

“Stainless steel is the right choice in many demanding situations,” said Lennart Edner, Eldon’s Product Manager, Power Distribution Systems. “From farming or other outdoor uses such as car washes to the many industries in which interior areas are routinely hosed down, like food processing or paper manufacturing, stainless steel confers a host of meaningful advantages and we are seeing the Swedish market respond.” The chief advantages of using stainless steel for enclosures and distribution boards are its durability and resistance to both water and fire. Because the new distribution boards are both self-extinguishing and incombustible, they are a powerful deterrent to fire even under extremely harsh conditions. Granting additional fire protection, the distribution boards are also arc-resistant to 3000º C and can take the over-voltage from lightning strikes using mounted surge protectors.
Eldon’s new boards were designed using the strict guidelines from the Swedish Safety Handbook for Farming. They can be used either with fuses or components that snap into DIN profiles.
