Modern wastewater treatment facility in Romania

Eldon helps one of Romania’s top electrical engineering companies secure the ongoing treatment and supply of safe drinking water to over 4 million Romanians, from an innovative waste water treatment plant.

Eldon’s decades long enclosure solutions expertise was a key asset for leading electrical engineering company Watt Unit when it was awarded the challenge of designing and implementing the electrical systems for a brand new largescale wastewater treatment facility. The plant, operated by SC Raja SA Constanta, the largest regional operator in Romania, will supply safe residential water to up to four million people in 34 local and county councils.

The challenge

Fresh water is one of the world’s most vital resources. Yet polluted water devastates the environment and threatens human health. That is why public water systems need to trust the technologies they use 24/7 to treat and deliver water to our homes that is cleaned of bacteria, chemicals and particulates such as silt.

Watt Unit is one of Romania’s leading turnkey suppliers of electrical systems with a long experience of delivering engineering, procurement and project management excellence. The company has built a solid reputation by successfully implementing a spectrum of big and complex projects as well as smaller, more experimental ones.

But the task of assisting SC Raja SA Constanta construct the new Constanta Sud water treatment plant was extraordinary, given the size and nature of the project.  The key was to put in place fail-safe electrical systems to ensure round-the-clock operation of the purification plant and its array of internal and external recirculation pumps, mixers, flow management, and distribution systems, many in wet environments.

The Eldon solution for the Constanta Sud water treatment plant

Eldon’s comprehensive range of user-friendly wall mounted and floor standing enclosures and the company’s ‘can do’ attitude to helping solve even the most complex turnkey projects cost-efficiently ensured Eldon emerged the enclosure supplier of choice for the waste water treatment plant.

“We pride ourselves on how we carry our quality approach to our physical products that will help guarantee reliable electrical supply into the way we go the extra mile to ensure our customers get the support they need to complete their projects on time and within budget regardless of project complexity,” said  Mugurel Tanasa, Eldon Area Sales Manager

Watt Unit electrical engineers opted for Eldon’s wall mounted (MAD1201030R5) and floor standing mild steel enclosures  (MKS20084R5 and MCS) and related general accessories. Ergonomic and strongly designed, Eldon’s MKS range  and MCS range of floor standing enclosures deliver maximum reliability and flexibility with removable rear and roof panels to allow easy hole punching and hinges for left or right hand opening.

The project was completed on time – and now up to four million Romanians enjoy a secure supply of treated drinking water.
